Community charter

Taking a community charter— and running with it

A community charter brings anticipation of membership growth and a greater competitive edge. But simply having a community charter, or even changing your name, doesn’t mean everyone automatically knows who you are or that they can join your credit union. Your success will be most affected by how well you reach out to and serve the community. Luckily, you’re already community- and service-focused — that’s naturally the credit union way. Use your community charter to spread recognition of credit union benefits, as well as to identify and serve areas of greatest growth potential and need. Integrating community marketing into your overall marketing and PR plan and reaching out to members of modest means are just the start of your community charter success.
