PiRate of Return Aye Matey—It’s a PiRate Youth Week!

Get on the high seas for some swashbucklin’ good fun as you follow a pirate map from island to island purchasing your booty. In addition to buying pirate booty, you can earn money as you stash your cash at Pirate Credit Union.

So heave to and set sail! You have ten days to spend and save, trying to earn a positive PiRate of return. Will you jump ship at The Petulant Parrot? Watch out! This merchant—and others—price their products on a whim, and the captain’s always looking for an excuse to hike your travel costs!

To help you celebrate Youth Week, we’re making all three games available today. Follow the links to see the three-deck challenge from Googolplex on your credit union’s web site:

During the month of April, AJ’s Voyage will be available to all credit unions (subscribers or not) from CUNA’s web site. The game is the same, but it won’t have links to 5-Spot and C-Note levels of difficulty, and it won’t carry your credit union branding.

Have you checked Googolplex lately to make sure your credit union branding is the way you want it? Read the next article!

Is Googolplex working for your credit union?

Take a minute to check how easy it is for youth to find Googolplex on your credit union’s web site. Then check what happens when they open Googolplex. Here’s how:

After you select an interest level (elementary school, middle school, or high school), click on one of the featured stories or games for that week. On any story or game page, look for:

  • Your credit union name in the upper left-hand corner;
  • Your credit union logo in the lower left-hand corner.
  • In 5-Spot: the top left link called "Watch Your Savings Grow;"
  • In AJ’s: the top left link called "Special Deals;"
  • In C-Note: the top left link called "Financial Services."

The last three links default to age-appropriate Googolplex stories if you haven’t customized them. The Googolplex default stories are excellent, but getting youth back to your credit union youth pages is better!

If you haven’t done it already, customize any of the links mentioned in this e- mail by visiting your credit union’s Set up and Promotion Page. You’ll need your CUID and password to get in.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Barb Bender (800-356-9655 ext. 4090) or bbender@cuna.coop.

Give youth print and online newsletters!
Every quarter we send you enough ready-to-print pages to create three full newsletters – one for elementary-school, middle-school, and high-school level readers. We provide newsletters in high resolution for print, and low resolution for e-mail or online viewing.

These lively newsletter pages give your young members previews of stories, activities and comics for the coming three months. Use them to direct young readers to your credit union web site, so they can see what’s new at Googolplex!

IMPORTANT: You add your credit union logo and mailing information. You can print and distribute them, and also make them available as a link on your web site. Got that creative bug? Add your own stories, art, more pages, or customize in other ways - it’s up to you!

Here’s what you get:

  • Complete newsletter pages (in high resolution PDF and JPEG formats) for elementary through high school students. The newsletters feature comics, activities and teasers about stories and games for the coming three months.
  • All of those same newsletter pages in low-resolution PDF format for online and e-mail use.

Here’s how you get it:
To retrieve the ready-to-print, ready-to-view newsletter pages each quarter, log in to your Googolplex Set-up and Promotion page, select the pages you need, and download them free of charge.

Don’t Waste Your Subscription
