Newest High School Video Tackles Identity Theft

Identity theft can happen to you! Watch the video!

Whether you're ordering soup in a restaurant or buying music over the Internet, you have every right to expect that the products you receive are what you were promised.

In the January 2007 Googolplex high school story, author Nicholas Heckman tells students how to "complain like a ninja," because "complaining is like martial arts—you should never use it unless you have to."

A sidebar to this story uses a video, written by the talented young Heckman, to playfully inform teenagers how to spot, stop and avoid another negative consumer issue: identity theft. You can watch it now at right.

Instant poll results—Boys only*

This poll and the one for the last month (same question but for girls only) were inspired by an online news report on hand washing. Here’s the report from Daily News Central: http://health.dailynewscentral.com/content/view/0001674/49/. The numbers from the Googolplex teenagers are surprising, but here’s what’s more surprising: Of the 28 Instant Poll questions we’ve put on line so far, this one has gotten the second highest total number of responses. This question really got their attention!

Give youth print and online newsletters!
Every quarter we send you enough ready-to-print pages to create three full newsletters – one for elementary-school, middle-school, and high-school level readers. We provide newsletters in high resolution for print, and low resolution for e-mail or online viewing.

These lively newsletter pages give your young members previews of stories, activities and comics for the coming three months. Use them to direct young readers to your credit union web site, so they can see what’s new at Googolplex!

IMPORTANT: You add your credit union logo and mailing information. You can print and distribute them, and also make them available as a link on your web site. Got that creative bug? Add your own stories, art, more pages, or customize in other ways - it’s up to you!

Here’s what you get:

  • Complete newsletter pages (in high resolution PDF and JPEG formats) for elementary through high school students. The newsletters feature comics, activities and teasers about stories and games for the coming three months.
  • All of those same newsletter pages in low-resolution PDF format for online and e-mail use.

Here’s how you get it:
To retrieve the ready-to-print, ready-to-view newsletter pages each quarter, log in to your Googolplex Set-up and Promotion page, select the pages you need, and download them free of charge.
