Meet Kelsey Balcaitis!
Kelsey Balcaitis has just joined the Googolplex staff as our college intern for 2006/07. Nick Grube, college intern for 2005/06 will remain as a freelance writer and videographer until he leaves Madison for a full-time position as a reporter. Our newest college intern says: Hello! My name is Kelsey and I am in my second year at UW Madison, majoring in Consumer Science with a concentration in Personal Financial Management (and possibly Spanish!) I’m 19 years old and from Appleton, Wisconsin. I am really excited for this year, especially working with Googolplex. I think it is a great website and has enormous potential for teaching youth about finances while still having fun. In the next few years, the importance of financial literacy for youth will become more prominent. It’s important that we show them how they will and do make a huge difference, even at their age. With Googolplex, we can reach and inspire them to action. Get the word out there and let members know that this website is for them and can help them! There are great tools, stories, and activities available to kids of all ages. I am looking forward to being a part of Googolplex and CUNA. |

Googolplex high school students are strongly influenced by TV and the Internet. How are you letting them know about the youth programs at your credit union? Here are the results of the May Instant Poll question on influence:
Q: Which source of advertising is most helpful to you in making buying decisions?
Thank you Teresa Koch, AVP Marketing, Orange County’s Credit Union, for suggesting the May Instant Poll question. Help us prepare future Instant Poll Questions for your high school members. Which issues would you like to learn more about? Use your imagination and send your poll questions with possible responses to Rena Crispin. * Instant Poll results reflect an unscientific sampling of Googolplex readers. | ||||||

Every quarter we send you enough ready-to-print pages to create three full newsletters – one for elementary-school, middle-school, and high-school level readers. We provide newsletters in high resolution for print, and low resolution for e-mail or online viewing. These lively newsletter pages give your young members previews of stories, activities, and comics for the coming three months. Use them to direct young readers to your credit union web site, so they can see what’s new at Googolplex on your web site! IMPORTANT: You add your credit union logo and mailing information. You can print and distribute them, and also make them available as a link on your web site. Got that creative bug? Add your own stories, art, more pages, or customize in other ways - it’s up to you! Here’s what you get:
