CUNA Fundamentals of Pricing & Structuring Member Business Loans CD November 10, 2008

Meet the needs of the market and of your Member Business Loan borrowers. The focus of this 90 minute audio presentation will be to look at the basics of pricing and structuring loans to improve ROA and to meet the needs of the market and of your Member Business Loan borrowers. In today’s highly competitive environment it is increasingly important to price loans correctly. This doesn’t mean being the lowest cost lender in town – but rather you should be assuring a reasonable return for the risk the Credit Union is taking.

Review the keys to understanding market/risk pricing and the fundamentals used in structuring loans. One of the key components of pricing is a Risk rating system that reflects the risk acceptance of the Credit union while adequately reviewing the key elements of a loan request that comprises risk.

Look at a basic Risk rating system and identify the key elements for review to assure that the credit function is rating loans appropriately and that the pricing matrix reflects the risk associated with providing MBLs. The seminar will cover:

  • Creating and Reviewing a Risk Rating Matrix
  • Key Elements of Structuring MBLs
  • How pricing and risk are related
  • How a solid Risk rating Matrix improves portfolio management

This audio is beneficial for ALL board members, management, and lenders with some background in member business loans.

This audio CD is from an audio conference held on November 10, 2008.
