FiCEP Part 1, Module 3: Special Issues in Financial Counseling

Offering effective financial counseling begins with the design and implementation of the counseling program. The first half of this module provides a framework for program design and implementation, including case studies of credit union counseling services. The second half of this module focuses on the legal rights of the member and his or her creditors. Options for negotiating with creditors are offered, along with information on dealing with severe financial issues such as eviction, repossession, and bankruptcy.
